downtown florence is walkable, from end to end, in about 45 minutes- faster if you know the streets and are on a mission. the best days, though, are the ones where we stopped looking at the map and let ourselves wander. a chilly day would take us down along the Arno River to bask in the sunlight, choosing to walk only on the streets lit by the sun on these days led to many little restaurant discoveries. florence, italy isΒ a truly beautiful little city.
